Rear leaf spring with 3 inch lift

I saw an ad on ebay with rearleafsprings with a 3 inch lift for a Charger 1968/1969.
Would this be rediculous High in the back end?
Did anyone lift the backend on his and how much?

Well, there are two ways to measure, free arch and installed arch. Those don't look like they are radically arched, but if they are using thicker or more resistent leaves, they may not flatten out much when installed. The more arch in a spring, the worse it performs handling wise. This is why most mopar springs look like they are almost flat when installed.

Could you use those, probably. Will they really lift things 3 inches, dunno. If they do lift three inches when installed, that is a lot of height that would be great for the retro '70s look, but not necessarily great for the way the car performs.

Agree, thats way I'm asking because I don't want make the car look like an offroad, which is higher then a RAM1500......

If you want to see how it would look, put a jack under the car, put a board between the jack and the shock cross member, pump up the jack until the body is three inches higher that where it is. Higher, yes, 4WD high, no. It comes down to personal preference then.

for me too high ! ok if your trying to recreat  old time back in the day look of the 70s !!  jacked up rear   mags , sticking out side the arch , metal flake paitn & draylon !! sidepipes & stuff   !!
handling will suffer big time also  

if you can get these leafs cheap enough , as not popular  ! could get them de-arched

 interesting to me is the extremes folks want to go to get their Rides to one stance or another...

I love both of these chargers for just that reason but both are kinda' out there...

I was concerned that they would sag after awhile like the mexican made Mopar springs do but 3 years later and they haven't sagged at all.

that stance looks , good  not as high as i thought !! true better thatn the crap MP mexico ones ,   ones i had saged 1" give & take  in 6 months from memory

Looks good an not to high................your car is kinda the way I want to build mine......

I Have to replace leafspring bushing and some other stuff on the back.....
If I buy new bushings and a leafspring rebuild kit is as expensive  as buying the lifted springs.
(did ask an they also have the stock replacements springs)
But thinking of buying 3inch lift kit......... think it looks OK and adding swaybars is part off the plan.

Probably going to use it for cruisin not racing, so wondering if i'm gonna notice.
My cougar has Hi jackers and about the same lift,  look great handles reasonable, but also for cruisin so don't mind it to much....
Guessing spring lift is better then Hijack lift.
