When I worked at the Paper, in the mid '90s this happened a  couple times and it really freaked folks out then too.. at that time it took a couple days for SAC to own up to it... test firings they finally said aimed at the pacific target range...

WASHINGTON — A mystery vapor trail that was filmed off the coast of southern California and looked like a missile launch was likely caused by a plane, the Pentagon said on Wednesday, closing its case on the incident.

"With all the information that we have gathered over the last day and a half about this condensation trail ... we have no evidence to suggest that this was anything other than a contrail caused by an aircraft," said Col. David Lapan, a Pentagon spokesman.

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

The Pentagon doesn't know what it is but there isn't anything to worry about  :shruggy:.   Look's like it takes to sharp of a course correction to be an airplane.

The Pentagon knows what it is but as always they are just trying to brush it under the dang rug.. It's not a dang plan.. how dumb do they think the USA are? don't answer that..

I heard yesterday from afew people, they heard that someone thinks it was one of those small big rockets that can lauch. IMHO here, I don't know what it is.. I'm trying to figure this whole thing out myself.

Yep, someone pushed the wrong button.

I find it amusing that all the "It's an airplane contrail" supporters aren't posting up all the photos of similar contrails they've collected over the years.

Mike Savage was on his radio show last night pointing out something much more interesting than UFO theories.

He was saying that Nov 10th was the same day of the year in 2007 when the Chinese surprised us militarity out in the Pacific.  They popped a submarine up out of the water within eyesight of a bunch of our Navy ships doing maneuvers.  We hadn't known it was even there.

The implication being that this recent rocket/missile contrail right off the coast of Cali is another "message" about how effective our detecting abilities are against their subs.

Savage isn't that bad is he?  ;)

My wife was listening to him last night and she told me the same thing.  He is not the only one to mention this, and it does not sound that crazy. Does it? .  :shruggy:

You mean that "we" can't hear the Chinese Sub. and they "test fired" a missile to see the look on our face?..

:shruggy:  Sure man, anything he says..

Of course Mike Savage is a fringe source.  That's why I made a point of saying it was his idea at the beginning of the post.  Everyone can make up their own mind how seriously to take it.  I just found the idea thought-provoking.

They say underwater launch? Is that anything like watching my right hand while the left does something else?

Hey... We restore old cars... Maybe there is someone who figured out how to shoot an old "Nike Mssile" There is a few old bases out there with the magazines intact.

Highly doubt it but it makes more sense than the other crap the Govt. feeds us.
