Got the first issue of Auto Enthusiast in the mail today - right on the cover, bright green 1969 Charger. That will get some attention!!

Looks like the story on another Charger is in there, too.

Full report, after my late lunch - but so far, the new
Magazine looks great - and there are other sections about
Other brands, too. I can get my Corvette and Mopar fix in one rag!!

Stay tuned...

Is this the phoenix from Mopar Enthusiast and some of those other ones folding?

The "new" magazine incorporates several "Enthusiast" titles under one cover.

They split thr magazine into sections and expanded the magazine in pages. Close to double what one of the old Enthusiast titles were!

Smart, as an advertiser can now place their ad in one magazine vs paying for 4 or 5 insertions each month!

I like the new look so far. More later :)

I'm starting to see more and more online magazines.
I see the only problem being - you haveta have a computer in your bathroom to read them!

The upside is you can grab the pictures directly off of the web for future "considerations"!

1968 Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi 4 speed
1968 Plymouth Barracuda S/S clone 426 Hemi auto

Looks like a nice Mopar section - Aside from the green Charger, there is a writeup on replacing the body on XP29J using the AMD Installation Center...

The new magazine is 220 pages, where the old Enthusiast titles were around 88 pages... As mentioned, instead of some advertisers having to run 5-7 different ads, they now only need one. So while 220 pages may not seem like a ton, it is!  :2thumbs: Also, over the next two issues, ads will go down and editorial copy will go up! :coolgleamA:

Alright, I have some questions about the Charger on the cover (finally got my issue last night)...

The window sticker looks somewhat like an original, but doesn't show up very clearly so that it could be confirmed as such.  I could not make out for certain what the original color was purported to be.  It SORTA looks like the color was typed as J6 (which wasn't available in 1969, even late in the model year), but I can't say for sure.  Is the comment about the color "really is Sublime" (Sublime is actually FJ5) just the editor being cute, or are they trying to say the color is supposedly correct?

The sticker mentiones the car being a White Hat special - which came with a Vinyl top.  Would the Vinyl Top or other package equipment also be coded on the Window Sticker even though they were part of the WHS package and didn't incur extra charges?  I think some of those would be on the Fender Tag no matter what, but they don't show us the car's tag.

What I found most interesting on the sticker was that this is an XP (non R/T) Charger that appears to be coded for a black painted bumblebee stripe.  I suppose that they had to paint the stripe on rather than use the usual vinyl/tape stripe, since those normally had the "R/T" cutouts.  To me, that seems like a pretty unusual option.

You can see the window sticker at this link, on page 105:
