I don't even know how to respond to a find like that. Plus the fact that he just handed you a business card and freely invited you to drop in any time. Unheard of in this day and age. You had a great day in my opinion.
So let's talk about this.  I have to disagree somewhat and here's why.  I really believe we're in a dying hobby. Everyone I knew as a kid was into cars, and now a select few are. We all know most kids are not anymore, they have way to many other things to play with ( sadly including my own ). On this note, I myself have become very friendly when I meet people that love Chargers and love to share stories and talk about our passion.
Just the other day I gave out my number to a guy that always ask me if I took the charger out today?  I know he doesn't have the money to buy one right now so I told him to swing by my house and we'll take it for a ride. Point is I really think others feel this way also, that there seems to be less and less to appreciate your hobby like you do, so when you meet someone that seems to be nice and into the hobby like you, you put out your hand and friendship. Anyone agree?  :shruggy:

How about a daughter & did you ask if he goes to any mopar web sites, like this one?
You can't own that many Mopars and not be known.  I talked to one friend that heard of him.  I did ask about websites etc but the conversation got changed.  He did say something about a family member that runs a cruise night.  No matter what I look forward to seeing his other and better toys.

I agree and think that's often, I wish more people were like that.  That's kinda how I learned what I know. The guys that work at the shop near my house have a 70 charger and a 68 dart, both hemi cars. I used to stop by all the time as a kid to hang out and help them work on their cars.

charge69

I feel the same as you and welcome questions about my car but rarely  get any.  Guess you gotta take it out once in a while to appreciate its' uniqueness. :icon_smile_big:

I hope that one day one of my 4 grandsons see more than "money"  when they look at the Charger but that remains to be seen. If I am stopped or questioned about the Charger, I get a little long-winded as my wife says. :icon_smile_big:  I just want them to appreciate what it represents to me someday!   Guess I will probably sell it and have my loving and understanding wife have the money if I get the luxury of a little  warning. The kids would just sell it and squander the money. At least, that is how I feel right now.

P.S.  I used to get pulled over by passerbyes a lot in the late '70's when I first got the car.  They were pretty unique, even back then.

when i find another person with another old car, no matter the make, it's easy to make conversation. just tonight i stopped to gas up the charger and a '72 torino pulls up. a dude near my age, so that's even more rare because it's usually, no offense to anyone here-way older guys that drive the old rides and a lot of them aren't all that friendly. struck up a conversation with this guy for 30 minutes or so, EASY. when it's a mopar, it's 10x better.

that's how i've made friends in this "hobby" and been able to keep my car thanks to all the help and knowledge given to me by others way more experienced than i. it's great having a friend that rides around in a '70 beldevere/satellite/soon to be a roadrunner clone and knows these cars very well but his dad being a 30+ mopar certified mechanic/restorer and they won 3rd place in the A-body category a few years ago? pretty sweet.

he's all, grandmaster jedi on these cars and knows whats up right away and how to take care of it without cutting corners, doing it the right way, etc.

Got a guy out my way like that... last count people said was over a 100 mopars all sinking into the ground and he doesn't want to sell anything... he just keeps buying up more junkers.
I did hear that he finally had a Super Bee fixed up.

The rest will probably all get crushed after he dies.

I ran into a place like that at one of the Dodge CHarger Meets - guy in Southern VA had a whole row of MOPARS backed along a tree line. Most were sinking into the dirt  ::)

I totally agree with you and try to practice this with my other interests too. From the Charger side of things I am on the receiving side of this situation. I have benefited greatly from the amazing folks here and hope one day to pay it back.  :2thumbs:

Rob,
Rob A. is a friend of mine. I have been going to the Mopar Nats with him the last 5 years or so. He is a great guy. He is very nice and very knowledgeable. He has a ton of cars and parts. He does not sell anything. From what his brother told me, he has sold one or two cars in the last 35+ years.
The 69 Charger is a Hemi car as far as I know.
Tell him John says "Hi".

Sad to see so many cars rusting but I bet they would of been trashed by now otherwise.  He must sell stuff as the 67 models look  like lots of parts are gone.
