Looks good. What did it have in it?

Orig. a 383/4bbl car, an HP2 440 was in the car when I bought it.

First thing I did was replace the fuel tank from the prev. owner letting it sit  :'(

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

cool pic

$3K WAS a lot of money in 1991 when I sold it... I had $5k in it and with three cars, one needed to go... Regret is expensive, isn't it...  :slap:

It sure was.  I remember being 15 in 1990 and begging my Dad for about a $4000 loan to buy a 69 R/T 4-speed in the local auto shopper.  He declined and it resulted in me driving the 83 Ford Escort we had once i got my license..  Dammit!   :brickwall:    :icon_smile_big:   :icon_smile_big:

My dad sold his 1970 383-4, 4-spd in about 1988 for roughly $4000.  I suppose that was pretty good money for those cars back then, but I'd make sure to give him crap all the time about it back in 2005/6 or so, when even hollowed-out shells of 318 cars were going for 4 grand.

thatr white pic reminds me of Pocket's before it got blue...  :yesnod:

My father sold his 1970 Charger R/T, Plum Crazy Purple, 4 Speed, 440 Magnum, etc in the early 80's for technically $800 I think it was. He traded it for a travel trailer that he then sold for the money.

From memory the late 80's early 90's was actually when prices were starting to shoot up and then the investor types bailed and prices fell back by the later 90's. Even those "high" prices were nothing compared to what happened in the last few years tough. I do think the car market is correcting and going back down for quite awhile.

I remember an original 1969 Charger 383 4 speed in my town for $3,500 about that time that was original paint, no rust, and in nice shape. It wasn't advertised but my BIL worked with a guy that had it since the 70's. He didn't bother to tell me it was for sale and it sold before I found out.

I paid the same amount for my R/T later that year so all was not lost.

...I remember buying the car on Halloween night 1990. Guy said all it needed was a starter motor... Yeah, right... ::)
