FLG,

Save yourself some coin and be satisfied with a job well done. Buy a 6" buffer from Harbor Freight ($40), some 10" buffing wheels from Eastwood and an assortment of polishing compounds from Eastwood or any auto paint store. Eastwood sells an entire metal polishing kit for both alum/SS. Aluminum is easy to work with and easy to polish. You can do it and you'll win bragging rights too! Good luck.

Thats what ive been thinking of doing. Might just buy a kit from eastwood and see what happens  :scratchchin:

IMO that's the way to go, buy a total kit like that and a buffing motor. I urge you to buy a couple 10" buffing wheels too.........you'll be glad you did. I tried using my grinding wheel motor and discovered the hard way why its best to buy a dedicated buffing motor..........longer shafts. I trashed one grille "C" molding trying to buff it out on a grinder motor. Attached is a shot of all the grille trim after I stripped it with EasyOff and one of the "C" moldings polished up. Hope this helps.

If you buy a buffer and wheels, do yourself a favor and look up some past threads on some how to and how not to tips.  Practice on some bad pieces first untill you get the hang of it as it is easy to trash some nice trim or have yanked right out your hand if your not carefull  :Twocents:  Once your comfortable you can give yourself some nice results

Thanks Guys!

I figure right now i want to polish up this aluminum radiator i have, i can use my hand drill and im sure its not gonna go anywhere

Ordered the kit from Eastwood. Ill ask for a nice buffing machine for Christmas.
