Looking for advice (for assembly date for a 440 engine I need)

I am looking for advice as to what range of assembly dates would be correct for my 69 Charger R/T SE. The cars SPD is Oct. 16, 1968. What dates should i be searching for? Is there any price difference between a 440 for an automatic and one that already has the crank drilled for a 4 speed. It doesn't matter to me, because I am going to disassemble the engine I buy and I can have the crank drilled at that time if necessary.
Thanks in advance. I have learned a lot from this site!

Based on a thread in another forum, as well as information from other sources, my guess would be an engine assembly date in the range of Oct 2 to Oct 11 to be the most likely, and a range of Sept 16 to Oct 23rd to be possible (Yes, I know that is after the SPD... the cars were often not built on their SPD, but many days after the scheduled date).  The block casting date could range from about two weeks before the assembly date to 2-3 months before the assembly date.

I have started a thread on this subject in general to collect information that would be useful to other members...

They are the same crank. A crank that will be used with a 4 speed will have a bushing or a bearing installed in the end.

The cranks of automatic equipped cars had undersized holes which were too small to accept a standard pilot bushing, so they required an special thin wall bushing the rebuilders carried, or the crank hole had to be enlarged to accept the standard pilot bushing...   :Twocents:

That is why you see many 4 Speed transmissions with the end of the input shaft cut off... a third, crude option.
