flyinlow

I have a 73 FSM but they where Electronic by then.

Its been over 3 decades since I have done this. If I remember, .017-.022 " adjust to get 28-32* dwell on a V8 with single points.

Distributor shaft bushing wear was common on point distributors which can make setting with a feeler guage difficult. Clean everything you use to gap with. Points sets don't like grease and oil on the contacts, except fot a dap of lube on the rubbing block. When you are done adjusting put a small clean piece of white paper between the points and pull it out to clean them before you put the cap back on.

Always keep the old set as a spare in the car.
