I'm in the tear down phase and my car is sitting on its wheels, no engine or trans. The floor is rotten, but the rockers and roof structure are solide. The doors are off though...am i doing any possible damage by allowing flexing of the body without the doors? I do plan on reinstalling the doors before putting the car up on stands and welding some bracing for when the doors come back off once its in the air for the foreseable future. But in the mean time....?

Possibly, but it's also possible that if everything is rotten enough damage has already been done.  Without seeing it though and based on your description I think you'll be alright, the rockers support more than the floor.

Ok thanks. I should mention that the rot is basically where the foot area is. The trans tunnel and the edges of the floor are intact.

If the rails and rockers are ok then i doubt it, Theres lots of 90's rusts buckets roaming around that are still straight, despite serious rust issues  :scratchchin:

Personally I like to mock up all the panels before tearing the car down all the way. This way if you trouble fitting something at some point you will know approx. what cause it . Ie the door fit fine before a cut out this chunk of rocker.

Well the doors are going back on soon anyway before the car goes up on jack stands. I'll line up the doors, raise the car, weld in some bracing, remove the doors, then start cutting out the floor. Once the new floor is in, i'll put the doors back and check to see if anything moved.

So far, i've only removed the motor and trans.

I should also mention that the jack stands will be leveled so the car sits level too.

When you mention welding in some bracing. Are you referring to some cross pieces inside the door openings or some other ?

Only curious.

Basically some bracing in the door area to act as a door once i remove it.

it's not a convertible, so is see no need to weld bracing in the door openings for just replacing the floor pans.

If your're going to replace frame rails or rockers or crossmembers then its another story.

The doors do no addittional body stiffening.

If you can put the body on 4 jack stands at the same height on a level floor you're fine

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

If you know it's okay to begin with.
