Just bought these and they work fine.

I got one of those coming too but I needed a longer one so it cost me a bit more. It's a 15-footer.

I got the HDMI connector yesterday and gave it a try. It's pretty nice, actually. Once I figured out how to manipulate the screen size setting on my TV it worked out pretty good. I watched an episode of The X-Files on Netflix and it looked and sounded great. I tried it for general web browsing and it's pretty useless for that. Although the 46" TV screen is nice and big you can't really read and see what you're doing from a distance, but that's not what I got it for. The intended purpose was to be able to watch Netflix on the big screen without having to cough up $200 or more for a game console (right now) so in that sense I'm quite pleased with the results.

Later I played a DVD on the laptop through the HDMI cable and it looked a fair bit better than the DVD player with the single yellow wire. Not awesome like HD, but better. I'm still waiting on my component cable to see how that looks as a replacement to the single yellow wire. I'm betting it'll be a wash compared to the HDMI/laptop DVD play.
