Not that it isn't good enough, it just that in this particular case I'm looking for a 69 one and even though I'm asking for a pic in the dark with the dash lights on, I expect there will be enough ambient lighting to show the difference in dash bezel textures.  So no insult to 68 owners intended.

will take one of mine later !!  got a tach on the steering column though !!  :shruggy:

I went out with my Canon Powershot A480 (10 megapixel) and tried to get some for you but they just didnt light up enough, and i had the thumbwheel turned all the way up.  The first one is what my dash looks like.
The second one i held my finger over the flash bulb but some light still go through.  The dark ones are with the flash turned off.

GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Just 6T9 CHGR

These were the best I could get Shawn.  Took these in the garage with the doors closed & no lights on....pretty creepy!
I used the "Night Scenery" setting on my camera which has a wide angle lens (of which I highly recommend for a "car show" camera....no need to back waaay up to get the whole car in)

Its kinda weird because it holds the lens open for a few seconds....thats why the second hand on the tic-toc-tac looks blurry....

Let me know if its big enough for ya ;)

I know I have one bc I spent so long just 3 or so weeks ago trying to get a "good" shot that showed the gauges.  The big issue is that the gauges are so "dim" the camera can't really capture much more detail than the gauge faces.  Naturally turn the flash on and things show up great...just like in the daytime with no back light, lol.  I'll try to dig around and see if it got uploaded to photobucket or something.

Scratch that....I guess the pic is lost to deletion after an assumed upload :(  I did find the camera shots...and video.  I figured I'd capture a still for you and there was just black (where the cluster is) and then the add-ons, which do look nice, but not what you're looking for.  I'll try to get the shot this weekend somehow...It was important to me to have one after the cluster refurb, so I'll be working that direction anyway.

WHITE AND RED 69

Do you only want stock looking gauges? I have a bunch of pics of my white face gauges if you want them.

I got out tonight and had virtually no luck with my phone.  I'll try again tomorrow with the camera.

This shot is the best I've got for now...the blue light is from a flashlight I had to use to get anything to show up.

And after viewing the preview it is blurry too!  If anyone else is having trouble you might position a flashlight just right and get a wide angle shot that sort of conceals the light source.

Step#1:  Take a pic of the dash guages in full light.

Step#2:  Darken all but the guage faces in Photoshop.

TexasStroker

Got out tonight, best I think I can do for you:

It is one of those weird situations...everything looks great in person (after the resto...I can actually see the gauge faces now, lol).  The pics look about the same thru the screen, hit the shutter and there goes 90% of the lighting?!

I guess like Mike said if you have photoshop you could do it that way...I don't, so I won't, lol.

That's cool.  I appreciate everyone's efforts and I'm sure those will work.  Thanks.

Here's a photoshop job on PocketThunder's first pic above.  It's just an extremely quick & dirty 10 minute job but you get the idea of what a better photoshop job could produce.

Procedure:

Cut out the guages from the background with layers (soft fading edges on the cuts, and don't try to get very much of the chrome edges in with the guage face).  Do a couple rounds of monkeying with the brighness & contrast on the guages compared to the background being darkened.

I did a few other things like manually erase some glare, and also reduce the color saturation on most of the image (except the red on the tach), but nothing else huge was done.

The better way would be to get a pic just for this purpose.  It could be made to look a lot better & clearer.
