Hey guys,

I'm going to tell you a little story because I need your advice on this deal. A few weeks back I saw a local add for a 03 Chevy truck for a pretty low price. I inquired by email and for a while I hadn't heard anything. Then a few days ago I get an email back explaining to me that he has moved to England with his wife and he is having a hard time selling his truck from there. He has sent many pics and they all look great and there seems to be nothign wrong with the truck. He wants to use Yahoo Motors to pay for the deal and I'm not quite sure how it works. This is what he said: ) You send me your name and shipping address and I will contact Yahoo Autos to open a case and they will send you an invoice. The invoice will be issued for an initial amount of $2,950 and the rest after you've received, properly inspected and drive tested the truck.

2) You will make the payment like instructed on the invoice and you will send the payment details to Yahoo Autos.

3) They will contact me if the payment is OK. I will ship the truck to you and send you the tracking number.

4) After you will receive the truck and only if it is like I described it, you will contact Yahoo Autos to release the payment to me.

This way I will get my money and you will get your truck.

I'm confused about the initial payment. Do I let it go after I've seen the truck or before as somesort of a downpayment? If anybody has purchased a vehicle like this or knows anything about Yahoo Motors, I would love their advice. It sounds like a good deal to me, I just do not want to be scammed. Thanks alot.

Can I ask how much he wants for it?  Sounds kind of fishy to me....usually if it sounds to good to be true...it probably is.  Having said that, I know nothing about Yahoo Motors either.

CB

we got several guys from the UK on the board. They can look at it for you.
Ask the seller if it's ok to send someone over to check the car. If he refuses then he wants to scam you. If he isn't too far away I could help you out, ley'ssay he lives in London. I live 4-5 hours away. I live in Antwerp. Look atthe map below.

Does he mean the truck is in england or that he's moved to england and left the truck?

Hey, Thanks for the replys...The guy lives in London now with his wife. He claims that the truck is in London with him right now. He said he is going to pay for shipping and everything...He only wants about 8k for it which I think is really low for an 03 chevy pick up. He says he needs to get rid of it because of the steering wheel and how Europes car's are different. I am going to ask him that CB, good idea. Thanks and let me know what you guys think.

I'd be shocked if this WASN'T a scam.

I've been jerking a Nigerian scammer around for 2 months now.

Had this a-hole go to western union at least 3 times now to get his "transfer".

I had my assistant deal with him. Her name is Connie Lingus.
