Periods are your friend.  If it's been left for dead, pictures would quickly get you some answers from some expert body workers.

Tough call with it being a R/T SE but it still sounds like it is pretty far gone. How are the windshield A pillars? That damage would be a lot of work to repair and if you aren't going to do it yourself I would say it will get too expensive very quick. With the numbers matching drivetrain being long gone I would say that it's likely time to part it out.

Every '69 Charger is worth saving - form slant-6's through to Hemi's - they're all worthy of the effort.

If you have the time, space & ability to start the body work on your own, please do so. Do what you can, and when the time comes you have nothing left to put in it, sell it to the next guy who feels the same way you did when you started, and it'll continue from there.

He'll do the same ... and eventually, bit by bit, in a few short years, and a few owners, it'll be at the point where someone with money sees the potential and can take it all the way. It's happened plenty of times before, and it'll happen again.

So long as along that line someone doesn't get greedy and expect idiotic prices just because it came from the factory as an R/T, then it can definitely be brought back to life.

Oh yeah .... we need pics!

What everyone fails to mention is we need pics.

hello & welcome Ken    , sounds like a project & half  going on !!
like the others say !!! need to see pictures  :yesnod:  ,
anything can be repaired !!  with enough dough thrown at it !!
body work , not difficult   just time consuming  to do a factory appearing job !!  thats what racks  up the price !! (labour time) ,  compared to the cost of parts !!

Anything can be fixed.. It is just a matter of how much effort you want to put into the car or sell it to someone who does... Sounds like it is very fixable, but it won't be cheap.

Good luck on your decision........

I know its a PITA if you're not sure how to post a pix here but we're all happy to walk you throught the process. Keep us posted. Good luck.
