I have a 2006 Daytona and just noticed a leak and cant figure out where its comming from.  The fluid is clear, odorless and located under the engine about a foot and a half back from front bumper dead center.  Ive noticed small spots on the floor to a large puddle the size of a football.  I havent had the A/c or defrost on so im sure its not that.  Ive had a few tell me it could be coolant but im just not sure.  Any ideas?

What's it taste like?
Only kidding-

Clear and odorless to me sounds like water.  Could be condensation.
Coolant, gas, oil, tranny fluid, windshield wiper fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid (did miss anything) all either have color or odor (usually both) to them.  Try wiping it with a white paper towel to confirm it's actually clear.

You might get a better answer from the "other" charger formus(z) dedicated to the ones made in this century like: http://www.chargerforumz.com/

Good luck

Oh - and by the way - welcome to the site

Clear power steering fluid, brake fluid? Do a touch and smell test.

Has it been raining?  Bet it's water that has pooled up and is draining out.
I'd taste it.

If it's coolant, there is no mistaking the feeling of glycol compared to water.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Thanks for the suggestions, i wasnt aware that this forum was for the older Chargers, its still fun to read and look at all the sweet rides though.  Thanks again.

It's for any charger period although most of us have older ones. I don't believe Troy discriminates based on the year.  Don't let these guys scare you away.

You are more than welcome to play with us here.

Welcome.

I still say it's water.   :icon_smile_cool:

Ive kept an eye on it and nothing has leaked since i posted this.  Maybe its normal and this is the first time i noticed anything.

My 06 Daytona leaves water on the ground long after rain or car washes.  I wouldn't worry about it.  The car has enough warning lights to let you know if anything is serious.  If you go looking for problems you're bound to find them.  I don't think it holds a lot of any fluid so you probably would have run out by now anyway.

Cool, thanks for the reply.  What color Daytona you got?

The leak has been fixed!!!!  Took it into the dealer once and they said they couldnt find anything leaking, surprise surprise.  Second time i took it in and gave them exact location as to where it was coming from, like i did the first time and they found it!!!!  Turned out to be a leaky gasket on my thermostat.  Funny thing is about a year ago i had a new thermostat put in.  Wouldnt you replace the gasket on any new part that has one??  Guess thats my fault and i should have asked them about it, im young and will learn from this!!
