The date code on my steering box is 479 how does this decode?

Thanks!

Assembled the 107th day of 1969.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

My car was built Dec 21 of 67...a 68 car. I guess the steering box was maybe replaced when the car was rather new? Any ideas?

Could be but some of those codes aren't date codes - or if they are, no one has figured them out yet. I have seen stuff on some brake drums and a bunch of Master cylinders that don't make any sense. I'll check out some steering boxes and report - Are we talking power?

Sixt8Chrgr

Yes Power steering. For what it is worth it does not look like it has been out, but who knows...42 years old.

I have a very good close up picture that I can email to you. Cant post it here it is too large a file.
