BBBBLARG?  :scratchchin:

"Blarg means 'me' or...'apples.' Oh, is apples the name of your cat? Is apples stuck in a tree? I will call the fire department"

KS71owner

here's another pic, this is what the actual created armor will look like, straight from the guy who created the files I'm using.

How are you adjusting it to fit your body shape/size?  :scratchchin:

KS71owner

The guy who designed it set the files up at a default size of a 6' tall person with a 42" chest, which is very close to my measurements right now. (I'm actually on a diet regimen now so when it's done I'll hopefully be smaller). But you can adjust the scale of the files in the pepakura software to fit any person's measurements.

This is cool, I was looking at helmets on eBay earlier this year. :2thumbs:

Coming along nicely...can't wait to see the end result!

Just curious to see what one would look like at 5'7" 250lbs.....lol. And no, those aren't me measurements....

Here's another pic of the full armor, I think this is the paint scheme I'm going to go with. Not sure about weapons yet, but most likely I'll build the carbine and pistol instead of the sniper rifle.

The gun in that picture looks like an H&K MP7 with a Suppressor on the front. Very simple to find a toy of one.

Thanks for that - If I decide to go with that weapon for this then I'll definitely look for that. I also have an airsoft pistol with a fake suppressor I'm thinking of modifying. Although if I'm feeling really ambitious (and I have the time) I may build the sniper rifle and add-ons for the sniper variant armor. There is also a pair of NVGs for the helmet that look really cool too.

Brief update, I'm rebuilding the gauntlets. I discovered I was using the wrong file, and the correct file is more accurate and a LOT less complex to build. Pics to follow soon.

Maybe next year I'll have the mountain oysters to shave my face so I can finally build this:

Since this topic has already gone into the gutter........

Well I think I've found the rifle for my costume.

This is a slightly modified repainted Nerf Longshot. Pretty badass for a 30 dollar toy.

Looks serious.....Blarg approved  :2thumbs:

more pics soon...spent most of this afternoon working on some new parts, including a weapon.

KS71owner

ok, here's a few new pics. Got the first new gauntlet built, and started the pistol. Got the lower receiver, the grip (with removable magazine), the tactical light and part of the barrel shroud built. It's a tricky build but so far it's going well.

KS71owner

Some more closeups of the gun parts. Quite a bit of detail, and not all the small parts have been added yet.

Arigmaster

You may want to exercise some caution when you go out in that. Perhaps alert the athorities ahead of time so you aren't taken out by the local SWAT team or something. With so many crazies running around now days... Law enforcment seems to frown om people running around with very large or intimidating weapons. (real or fake)

Oh... And the banks and local quickie marts would probably freak too. Make sure you use the restroom at home before going out.

KS71owner

Not to worry, this is being built specifically for next Halloween. I know here in Wichita you can't wear a mask in public except on that day. As for the weapons, they will be marked with safety tips when out and about.
