I didn't like it when he said he was "delighted" to hear M.E Magazine had gone under (or something along those lines) for me its sad news  :'(

Black Charger

MCG used to be my favorite magazine. Now, I am far from being a prude, but after they started stuffing their issues full of ads and practically dedicating an entire issue to the Playboy Mansion show, that is when I lost interest. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a beautiful woman in a tasteful pose with a fine automobile. Dedicating an entire issue to it is a different story. If I wanted a bimbo infested skin show, I would simply buy Playboy, not a car magazine.

I have said in other posts I collect Mopar magazines(HP Mopar, Mopar Action & Mopar Muscle). The reason I didn't bother with MCG was it was mostly adds & as they found out that isn't what people want to pay for.

MCG is a great reference guide when you're looking for parts or a specific vendor. Then again, you can find all that on the internet, right?

I can't agree more about the wannabe celebrity crap in that rag. I was a loyal subscriber for years until it got to be "Stars' Cars", instead of regular Joes like us. Robbo wants to raise subscription prices so that he can continue the "free concert" at MATS. How many subscribers actually go to that ONE show and give a crap about whoever's playing? 1%? 1/2%? LAME. They also use that cash for rings & trophies for the racers. Again, how many subscribers does that include?

At work, we refer to Rob as "Mullet Man". LMAO

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but is a car magazine the right place for political views? Sure, it's HIS magazine, but WE pay for it. The readers should determine content, not the egotistical editor.

I did try Mopar Muscle for a year, but after eleventeen 440 builds, I puked and said "enough is enough". Whats-his-face's bad grammar and spelling got under my skin, too. On the plus side, the Reader's Rides section is worth 10 Thumbs-Up!

You are not funny, you got locked on moparts for good reason.  Maybe there is an adult that's a mod who can do the same for us here.

If you whiners think you can a better job holding up a mirror to the "hobby" and writing about it, then you should take $225,000.00-that's not a misprint and buy a spot on the newsstand for that excellent mopar mag that you are about to $#^t out.  That's what it took to get MCG where they are today. If you don't like what the mirror reflects than get out from behind that keyboard and make a difference. You are not doing much here other than verbal diarrhea and patting each other on the back.

Apparently the canned crap we get for tech in the other mag must be the what's keeping your attention.I also can see you all have a good understanding of what it takes to produce a magazine and your english language/grammar  skills are second to none.

You guys are clueless for sure.

I quit my subscription to MCG a couple of years ago when they started doing all of the celebrity car owners cars and pretty much left the "average Joe" guy out who either had a really nice car or a rare car that was saved from the crusher.  I, too, noticed a tremendous amount of increased advertising but I have to admit, some of them were good and brought some light on new products such as Tony D'Agostino's items, Dave's items at ECS, and even Mike's new parts at BEA body parts.  Im not saying it is a horrible magazine, and yes there are some that are worse and some that are better but I just lost the interest in it since it seemed to change to fit certain people.  I like stock restored cars and they seemed to have very little of that towards the end of my subscription.

Showing more star cars must be good for their business or they wouldn't be doing it. I subscribe to MCG and admit there are issues I would not have bought off the stand. But over the course of the year they touch on a few topics and show products and vendors that manage to pay for the subscription IMHO. So I keep it active. It is also common to see topics covered in an issue end up as topics on the message boards. So their presence has an impact in places like this as well.

Not everyone on here has said negative things about the magazine you seem to be connected with :shruggy:.  None the less you bad mouth everyone on this site "You guys are clueless for sure."  every one has and is in titled to an opinion.  In my opinion this is the best site out there with some of the most knowledgeable people in the hobby.

Gee, Quad, you used to have a sense of humor. Adulthood must be boring.

I suppose you're going to tell Mullet Man all our concerns and comments like you told me you would, right?

How come YOU aren't writing for any of these rags any more?

Lucklily, the mods here actually allow us to have opinions and don't lock the threads when we express those opinions.

Quotenot funny

Actually, this IS pretty damn funny.

Its interesting that someone who champions an independent and opinionated magazine to say what it wants, then cries for the moderators of this site to shut up everyone with a different opinion.

MCG, as opinionated as it is, isn't for everybody. However, the fact that it still exists is evidence that there are enough people who like it that way to keep the press running.

i posted the lyrics because i thought they were funny.  i didnt say jack about rob wolf other than to direct to whom the "budweiser'esque" lyrics were written.

good god.. this thread was not meant to bash MCG (some have explained their angst.. and that is their opinion), but to say we (i.e. generalizing) are clueless/whiners is just uncalled for and you should apologize to everyone.

not sure what you are talking about since i didnt post the original one on moparts, but instead linked to the individuals profile who did.  wow... observational skills must be optional.

Here I do disagree with you.  Our tech department has much more substantial, real-time feedback that applies directly to mopar enthusiasts.  MCG is monthly, we are by the minute, hour, and day when it comes to tech support.  "WE" (and if the others allow me for speaking for them) do NOT pat each other on the back in regards to helping each other.. we do it because it is the right thing to do.  We do NOT get paid for giving out this information, but do it freely without any expectations of benefit other than mutual comraderie and future friendships.  those two are priceless... running a magazine that does not hold a candle to this site is not priceless if you ask me.

If you think we do not compare to them... then send your tech articles to them and await your 2 month response.  Me, on the other hand will wait my 30 minutes.
