Not familiar with Chevy flex plate, anyone know?

So my neighbor has a Chevy small block and a 350 trans.

Question, on which side does the flex plate faces the engine, there is nothing telling us.
The difference is about 1/8 in difference on how the torque converter sits in the trans.

I know if it was a Mopar i could help him out, this Chebby stuff confounds me.  :ahum:

Also are SB Chevys internal of externally balanced. Some flex plates have weights welded on some don't.

Ok i found the answer, only 400 sbc are externally ballance.

If it's used I look at the bolt hole side where the bolt head would make a mark on the blate vrs the side where a mark would be as it sits against the end of the crank.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Nope it's new. I found a site that explanes the whole dam thing. It's much eazyer than I though, just all the rebuild parts that come out of Mexico, say "Made in Mexico", but not (engine side)  :P
