The potential routes don't look very appealing. There will be some long interstate runs in there.

TheAutoArchaeologist

Yeah there is, each route on Mapquest... point to point is over 4 hours long.

I've been between every point on the route before, and the only one that's hard to get off the interstate is Cocoa-Valdosta. That could be done too, by running Hwy 4 to Orlando then 441 North.

Dunno.

Anyone who has done a PT before will know that speculating on the actual route might be fun, but it's completely futile. They almost never run where you think they will. While they typically try to keep it off the interstate, sometimes the drive time dictates they don't. I haven't mapped it out yet, but at a glance, I see a couple of days like this.

In all likelihood, I'll be sitting out this year. Just too many other commitments for my vacation time (and money). In addition, I've also literally been down those roads before.

That being said, I'd encourage anyone who has the balls to drive their cars to DO IT.

Can't wait!  This is my #1 favorite event!  Last year I did 4 legs, this year I hope to do Tuesday - Saturday.  :2thumbs:
My name is Mike and I'm a Moparholic!

TheAutoArchaeologist

We have big things planned.  And I do mean planned, not...  I got told to plan the whole thing in 3 days... but actually talk to people and set things up.  It is going to be awesome.

Bashton

This will be my fourth long haul, and this time the last stop is about 15 minutes from my house!

PT is a definite must do for anyone who can do it!

I hope the HRPT holds its Long Haulers Ceremony at the CEMA Show at the W.P. Chrylser Museum on the 11th

I will not be on the tour but will be comming from CA to attend the CEMA Show and it would be really cool to have them at the same place the same day.

-Steve

TheAutoArchaeologist

That isn't going to happen, the Long Haul Ceremony will be at a GM facility, but us Mopar guys will have other plans afterwards!

TheAutoArchaeologist

Big updates coming.  We're planning on stopping at Garlitts Museum, Wellborns and The Finer Detail... and more!

WELCOME TO THE ONLY OFFICIAL
MoPowerTour 2011 WEB COVERAGE!

Touted as "America's Greatest Road Trip," the Power Touris a
cross country few-thousand mile hell-of-a-good-time with over 3000
muscle cars, hot rods, and street machines rumbling across the USA.
And....www.totallyautoinc.com can take you there live!

MoPowered Tour 2011, GET YOUR MOTORS RUNNING!!!!!!
7 cities---9 days! Or something like that........
June 4-12 2011
Over the past 7-years, the MoPowered Tour has taken on a life of its own.
You've read the stories from the road, seen the fun in pictures, read about it in the magazine and watched it HERE, on the web!
Now its time to experience The MoPowered Tour for yourself.

For 2011, Mopar Collectors Guide Magazine and Totally Auto Inc., will once again join forces to organize the Mopar faithful on the
Hot Rod Power Tour into our well known "tour within the tour" - the MoPowered Tour.
This is just our way of making America's Greatest Road Trip a little more special for all of our Mopar friends.

We will be doing things just a little differently this year.
Last year our good buddy, aspiring journalist and moparts.com alumni Ryan Brutt took the reins and the lead.
This year Ryan will continue in that capacity and has already done a fine job lining up stopovers, places to see, stuff to eat and (unlike past tours), things to do that can actually be printed on this family oriented site.
MoPowered Tour ORIGINAL's Dave Ferro, Charlie Dallas, Robert Wolf & Billy Uhl will still be doing their best to stay out of jail, at or around the speed limit, (we hope), and generally tear things up, just in a different capacity.

It seems many had a problem keeping up with Dave as he drove the Totally Auto built LEAD Vehicles through the years and, rather than try and slow these guys down, we are offering an alternative; ride with the dogs up front or hang back and enjoy the scenery.
Either way, the MoPower Tour has a place for you.

In the past, we threw a bunch of parties, made a bunch of plans and then never even showed up. Not purposely, mind you, just circumstances like blown Road Runner engines, kids spraying us with mace, (while driving), cars falling in swimming pools and the like, kept us from making it to some of our own cool stuff.
Now, with sensible Ryan at the lead and the Masters of Mayhem free to come, go and do as they please, the MoPower Tour just got ALOT more interesting!
Driving the "Camera Car" loaded with both still cameras and HD video, the Totally Auto / MCG guys are free to roam, photo cars for the magazine and shoot off at speed into the horizon. They will also be doing Video for MoprTV!

Daily web postings will continue too.......... But with a twist.

The antics you have become accustomed to when Dave and Rob join forces will more than likely continue and will be posted HERE at totallyautoinc.com.... Daily.......We hope.
Ryan, on the other hand, being much more responsible about the whole thing, will continue his blog EVERY EVENING at http://powertour2011.wordpress.com/
There, you will see many of the food stops, (doughnuts?), planned activities and actual Power Tour coverage from a his point of view.
Congrats to Ryan for the 2010 coverage he penned in Mopar Collectors Guide Magazine and thanks again buddy for your help this year! Look for Ryan in the Blue Challenger shown below;

Remember - the Mopowered Tour is a family friendly event and we highly encourage you to bring your son, daughter, wife, Mom, brother, whoever, along for the ride. We guarantee, after a week of high horsepower hijinks on the road, they'll either love or hate hot rods forever!

Differing from years past, MCG will NOT be giving out free Mopowered Tour shirts (FYI: There is no corporate sponsorship or help from Chrysler again, this year, so it's all out of pocket once again in 2011.), however, they are still free when you subscribe or renew your subscription to MCG along the way. There will only be a limited number of these really cool, custom Tour-shirts, so hit Rob or Ryan up early! Shirts will be available for $15.

Don't forget, we don't charge to be a part of the Mopowered Tour, however, if you're going to participate in any of the festivities at the Hot Rod Power Tour venues, you'll need to pay to play with them — which we highly encourage you do so at hotrod.com.
Speaking of signing up; Be sure to do so by emailing the following to mopoweredtour@yahoo.com

YEAR/MAKE/MODEL/COLOR OF YOUR MOPAR
STOPS YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING
CELL PHONE NUMBER FOR USE ON TOUR- (text capable)
EMAIL ADDRESS
HOW MANY IN YOUR RIDE

UPDATE 4/1/11
The Stolen '67 Barracuda MoPowered Tour 08 LEAD Vehicle has been FOUND!!!! No, this is not an April Fools joke. It's for real and being re-restored, complete with New-Generation HEMI at Totally Auto's shop as this is written. Besides jumping up and down with JOY, Dave is prepping the car for the 2011 MoPowered Tour, complete with Dash and fender cams to film the whole tour for MoprTV. Yes, you read it right and heard about it here first at totallyautoinc.com! Read more about it in the next edition of Mopar Collector's Guide Magazine!

NOTE FROM DAVE FERRO; Hey guys, I just want to send out a big THANK YOU to all who were looking for and suppling leads on my car. It's home, it's safe and we already stripped it to metal for a new paintjob. For over 25-years the #1 most asked question I get at shows is where is or do you still have that 67 GTX, (the answer is yes). To date........ that question has only been topped by, what ever happened or did you ever find that '67 Barracuda," and now to that, I can finally say, the answer is YES!

UPDATE 4/2/11
Here we go again, Rob keeps calling me telling me all kinda' cool ideas I'm not allowed to talk about.........YET!
Bill Uhl just made me smile with his news; He's taking his MOM in the now famous Totally Auto built 68 6PACK Beeper Convert!
Way to go Billy!

We had a great time as we drove down from Manistee to see the tour.  Only thing is, we should'a been driving around more because there were cars EVERYWHERE  :rotz:  I bet we only saw a quarter of them.

It was an absolute blast.  Too bad we couldn't have met up.  It isn't every day you see one of these!
