Wondering if the Owner of this 67 is a Member here...

I do some side work for a local hot rod shop that was working on this car. As far as I know, the owner is in Indiana and has taken it home and back already, so if you want me to remove the pics I can. I thought the rest of you would enjoy as well. There are a lot of neat little things done to this car.

I like how the cowl scoop was integrated into the body lines of the hood but I really HATE cowl induction scoops on Mopars.  Nice car though.

Think how much work it was just to make it look like a nice looking 66 Charger.  Very nice.

I totally agree with you Ghoste! I never like it. I can say there was a lot of work involved with this one. It was narrowed and stretched and raised.

I have was wondering about the year ITSA. I am not positive of the differences of the years, but I thought they had the wrong year.

Has anyone seen that spoiler before? The story I got was that was the first year for a factory spoiler (NASCAR influence). The funny part is that while you could order it from the factory, they let the dealer or customer install it.

The quickest way to tell is that the 66 fender trim wraps around the front of the fender as you see on that car.  A 67 has a turn signal indicator at the front edge of that piece of fender trim.  There are some other ways too (direction of pleats in the seat and 66 has a full length front to rear console while 67 has a short one like 68-70) but that is a fast way.

Thanks Ghoste. I thought that was the order it went. the trim wasn't on it the first time I saw it, and the interior still isn't in it (except for 1 seat). After I saw it, I thought they could have changed the trim along with all the other littlethings they did. Thanks for noting the differences.

Yeah, they could change some of those things easily enough.  As for the spoiler, the story is true.  In 66 it was discovered that the Charger had a nasty habit of trying to lift off at around 180 mph so they got permission from NASCAR late in the 66 season to retrofit a spoiler to the car in the interest of safety.  When everyone else wanted the same permission "in the interest of safety", Dodge made it standard on the 67 Hemi Chargers in order to show that they were in fact the only company that had it as standard equipment.  I have heard that spoiler equipped cars came with it in the trunk and the dealer had to install but I have also seen photos of it being installed on the production line.  The production line pics could very easily have been nothing more than staged publicity shots though.

You expect to see those cowl inductions on 69 camaros.
