Another Transmission leak...

So, I've been fighting a leak on the rear shaft on my tranny.  The speedo pinion seal came loose, I got that sorted out.  The O ring on the Speedometer housing wasn't sealing right, so I changed that.  Although, now I see that may have not been the leak.

I had noticed tranny fluid up where the transmission mount bolts in the case.  How would fluid get up there?!  Is it possible it's cracked or something?  I cleaned things up real good under there after I replaced the O ring.  I took some pictures, kind of hard to see exactally whats going on.  But I see no red fluid coming from the speedo side, it's dry right there.  Seems to have leaked from the other side and collected at that point.  Any ideas?

could be cracked, but.... my recommendation is to the remove the crossmember and mount and get a better look.  no sense guessing without all the information.

Sometimes the most obvious things fly right over my head.  Thanks RD, I'll pull that tomorrow and take a look.

Got the cross member and mount off this evening.  Forgot about that access plate for the clip for the rear housing.  Seems to be leaking around that.  Can I get that gasket by itself?

yeah or just buy some cork gasket material and cut out your own.  easy that way.

Hey, thanks for the help RD!  I got some cork today, had to buy a 3' roll of it!

Trimmed a piece to fit, and so far; no leak!   :2thumbs:
