...True, but are we the only ones in our solar system? Faster than light travel is just a sci fi dream, so any extraterrestrials would have to be local.  :icon_smile_wink:

that is only considering if the extraterrestrial beings had a life cycle similar to man.  if the ET's lived for thousands of years, then they would not need FTL.. something 1/4 of that would be sufficient :D

of course, see below.. i am biased hehe

Why do tinfoil hats always look so goofy? Can't someone make one in the shape of a baseball cap?

I really don't think a foil shaped baseball cap covers enough of the cerebellum to offer enough protection from the rays.  :Twocents:  Remember, the cerebellum (Latin for little brain) is a region of the brain that plays an important role in motor control. Too many people have had their bodies taken over by not using enough of the foil. Thanks goes out to the Hanson Brothers for demonstrating the usefulness of the foil early on.

Or they could have considerably shorter life cycles. I don't know, I'm not of those people that think there's life out there...but whether its intelligent life and whether it's intelligent enough to figure out how to come here is very questionable. I mean, I don't even know if there is intelligent life in certain parts of the country...

That us absolutely true in the context of our current understandings of science. Our current understandings only go back a few generations. Imagine what we don't know, what still has to be discovered and the exceptions to the rules. Look at progress in just the past 100 years. If there was a planet just a mere 1000 years ahead of us, how much more advanced could they be.

I dunno if having a space heater in an aluminum foil room is a good idea.
