Saw this at a local show.  Seen gull wings etc. but never seen it done like this.  Only seemed to have 1 bolt holding the doors on.  Not something I would have thought of or done but it was something definitely different from the norm. Does anyone else here do this?  Just doesn't seem to safe to me.

Picture 1 looks like somebody took the door off at a junkyard and decided they didn't want it :smilielol:

You're right, two door Chargers can't do that.  One more reason not to own a four door one I guess.

So..... He's won trophies for some crappy ghetto wheels and a body shop guy on crack saying, "hey, let's try this!"

ionracer24

this is another reason i wouldn't ever buy a 4 door ......too many "homies" ruining them and turning them into dipshot mobiles :rotz:

It's almost as tacky and unrefined as taking a nice 2nd gen, painting it orange and putting a confederate flag on the roof and "01"s on the sides. Almost.

What's the purpose or what are the benefits of having a door hinge like that :scratchchin:

none other than to look cool. Even as a fan of the 4 door Charger, I agree that it's pretty retarded...same deal with the "Lambo" doors.

now , lets think this thing through!! :scratchchin: what if you are on a long trip across country and you need to sleep but there is no hotel around. just a campground. then you could lay in the back seat at 6'1" and stretch out. and if it started raining you could flip the doors over to block the rain.  :2thumbs: :shruggy:

the funniest thing is that the dude that owns it went through all the trouble to get the doors tricked out but couldn't swing $100 to get the windows tinted or a couple hundred for a lowering kit.

I'm rolling with Ponch and Per on this. Frankly, different strokes etc but IMO that's just butt ugly. What's with the horizontal door mount? Why would you mod a door so when its "open" you can't get into the car unless you're a hobbit? Lambo mods are one thing, this is just stupid.

I didn't look at it real hard but from what I could tell it just had one of the bolts removed and rotated on the other.  Didn't look like anything got modified.  I just wondered if it got driven with only one bolt in it and what about passengers?

Highbanked Hauler

IO wonder how it would stand up in a side hit, would the door come off????

Cars like this almost make me ashamed to own an LX Charger. I guess the old saying "just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD" applies here.
