This weekend I had the pleasure of helping a friend bring home a new toy.

Over the course of 1 day, 12 hrs and 45 minutes, we covered 1445 miles and burned about 111 gallons of diesel. Here is a brief photo gallery of the trip:

Quick info on the car:
72 Rallye. 340 4 speed N96.

Originally B5 w/B5 bench interior and white top. Now black bucket/buddy seat interior.

Sweet car.

It is a sweet driving car. Haven't had the chance to drive it myself other than off the trailer, but as a passenger, I never would have guessed it to be a small block. This sucker runs NICE. It has become apparent that I've got some work to do on my Roadrunner to get it running on par with this car.

thats just beautiful, but for the helpful hand and all those miles, do you get to take it around the block?  :shruggy:

I'm sure I'll get my chance. I was beat after 10 hrs on the road yesterday though.

This trip was repayment for the several trips to drag cars home on my behalf... including one trip through a snow storm in South Dakota. Heck, I still probably owe him a few more miles.

I thought that was the one on CL in the Pittsburgh PA area but I see it came from MN. Looks like a great car.

That car is just beautiful. Any talk about putting top white top and blue interior back in it? Either way, that thing is just great.  :2thumbs:

The car has about 200 miles on the restoration, including the new interior and top. It looks better in this color combination than the one it was born with. Go back to a bench seat? Not in this lifetime.

Other deviations from stock also include the 71 stripe, and 71 tail lights.

I'll try to remember to post a picture of the fender tag tomorrow. Don't have it here on this computer.

It's got a couple interesting options, including axle package with HD cooling.

71 "RT" style tailights were standard on the 72 Rallye (unless of course the lights actually came off a 71) what a nice ride!  :2thumbs:
