that sums it up! i need to replace my water pump on my 440. when i yanked the motor i misplaced it someplace... actually when i took it to my engine guru i had it and the housing off but i wanted him to paint it all so i delivered the housing and pump when i picked it up it was minus the pump. the housing looks great though! now i just need to put a new pump on and he believes he may of chucked it :brickwall: no big deal though he went up and outta his way on his part for some of the motor work at no extra. should i stay with a stock pump or go electric? it is stroked out to a 541 if its necessary to get a higher flow i would rather do it now then before its up and runnin thanks before hand on all the thoughts!

Have you read all of this yet? Not to cause you to overthink this stuff but it sounds as if you're considering an upgrade. If so there's some good info here.

Yea bull i had read it when Ron first posted it but wow i didn't know it had so many pages since then. i wasn't planning on a new housing just a new pump anyway. I am glad i read up on it though. its a real shoty thing that 440 is doing with just turning there heads so to speak. makes you wonder what there best intentions are. if they produce aftermarket parts that don't really come up to par as original then eventually they will slowly work themselves outta there customers faith and pocket book.  :Twocents: two bad there is gunna be plenty more getting burned (engines and customers) before it hurts them. I ate a lot of PB&J to get where i could afford to have my engine kick ass. and to have it all worked over again cuz a reliable aftermarket companies waterpump was not as reliable as it seams! and to know that they KNOWN of the problem and at least wouldn't list it for race only and/or inform the customer before hand of the heat issue! i think i would retaliate to the point that i cant type it cuz that would be considered premeditated!  :flame:thanks again for the repost it did enlighten me to a problem that i coulda brought on myself!
