Just 6T9 CHGR

Just had a phone interview with a USA Today reporter (Anthony Breznican) about my Charger and the effects of the new DOH movie coming out on its value.
Asked me why I liked my car, how long have I had it, do I like General Lee clones etc.

Put in a nice plug for our site as well

Update!!!  Mr. Breznican emailed me back and he said the article will run in Wednesday's paper now......

Sounds like it wasn't even about the new Charger...wishful thinking, I know.  They probably already have the official company line from DCX on the 06 that they have to print, so there was no need to ask questions.

Knowing USA Today, they'll probably take all the info you gave them and process it down into one cute little pie chart.

69_500

Congrats Chris. Glad that they at least picked someone that knows something about the older Chargers.

So Chris just curious but what did you tell them your thoughts on Chargers being cloned into DOH replica's?

As long as they aren't being crushed i'm all for it. Doesn't matter to me if its a modified car, stock car, race car, General Lee clone, or what as long as they are still being driven.

tomonty

That sounds pretty cool. How did you get picked to be interviewed?

Thanks for the link Brian.

I'll have to make sure my Wife doesn't see that article as I had told her the car was a good investment when I purchased it.  She now knows that I never plan on selling it but she just might try and persuade me if she thinks we could get some heavy bread for it.  I was honest with her and told her that the only way I would sell it would be to buy another one.  She says "what good is an investement if you never plan on cashing it in"?  I just winked at her!

Well I just got about 3 minutes more of fame......Amy from Inside Edition just called me again and asked me questions about the "69 Charger General Lee craze"
She basically asked me about my take on the General Lee clone thing and I told her that I was one of the "purists" against the clones......dont get me wrong I like the clones but I wouldnt want to make one out of my car.
This is getting crazy these past few days.   Im getting emails from reporters asking if I know any one in certain areas interested in doing a story etc......
I asked Steve (Charger4404spd) if he was interested.....some woman was looking for a Charger owner in the TN area ......I forwarded her his info after he agreed and they are in contact.

Got another one today from another woman looking for someone from St Paul. MN area......

Whoever posted Chris's quote didn't post all of it so here it is in its entirety. I notice that spellcheck doesn't like the word, Giardina, for some reason. It keeps wanting to change it to Guardian.

"People who have the cars are happy, and people who don't have the cars but want them are unhappy because they're going to be harder to find," says Chris Giardina, 35, the proprietor of the fan group 1969ChargerRegistry.com.

Giardina, of Staten Island, N.Y., paid about $4,000 for a junker seven years ago, then spent $30,000 restoring it. "I wouldn't say I'm thinking about selling it," he says. But "everything's got a price."

Hey great article there Chris. Good reading. Was hoping to hear you say something about your thoughts on the Dukes craze but guess they have editorial rights to put in what they feel is a good story.

So the cat is out of the bag on how much it cost to do the charger huh. See I got a leg up there, my wife knows we spent $30,000 for the car, but the problem is now she says when the value of 500's hits $100K we are selling. I told her no way, not until the price hits $250K.
