besides a 68 switch housing being shorter than a 69 I see no difference in the Ignition switches. the connector plugs are the same. the 69 has a ground pin but no matching one on the plug. Can I use a 68 switch on my 69? thanks for the help. Steve  :nana:

The diameter isn't even close. However, the 68 is smaller (and much more plentiful) and I've heard of people making an adapter plate for the hole in the 69 dash. Those 69 only switches are reproduced now. I have several good used ones along with a pile of NOS ones (but no cars made in 69).

I am planning to use my 68 dash frame as my 69 is rusted out. Will the 68 frame and switch work with a 69 harness? thanks Steve :nana:

Ummm, most likely. The pins all do the same thing so as long as you wire them up correctly I imagine it would be fine. You'd have a hard time getting the 69 switch in a 68 dash.

You do know the dash frames themselves are different too right?

Really, Now that doesn't suprise me. I can see that the dash pad is different(of course). I will have to finish stripping my 68 dash and compare the 2 of them. I know that they have wiring color differences and the 68 has the reverse light switch added to the dash harness but are the frames different also? Thanks for any help as I am trying to use up old parts from a parts car. :shruggy:
