I'm having horn troubles.  It went from working fine to suddenly constant blowing, then nada. I've ordered the horn ring for the steering wheel and the horn relay.  Today I received and replaced the relay and I got the constant horn. So, I'm theorizing that the horn button is stuck. That's what blew the relay in the first place.  So what do you guys think?     :scratchchin:

Sounds about right - I believe the horn button works as a ground - so anywhere along the line - if the wire feeding your button is grounded - you'll be constantly horny.

had that happen once when the wire solder came loose and the wire made constant contact under the horn button. untill i could get it fixed i took the button off and would have to hold the wire to ground to honk. :smilielol:

Update---

Both the new relay and button are in... I get a constant beep.  So I have a grounded wire somewhere.  Another thing is my horn only works with the car started. I don't think that's how it was in '69 was it?    :brickwall:

no, is battery feeded, no key needed.

I would say more WRONG wired...

check the wire coming from cab at relay if has continuity with chassis

Right no my horn doesn't work at all, but is it really supposed to work with the car not running? I believe I have to turn the key to "acc on" or "ignition on", whatever you prefer, to get the horn provided with power.  Is it supposed to get power without even turning the key. Just by pressing the horn button?
