I picked up an old Motor Trend at a garage sale. On the cover is a 77.5 Charger with LE package and the article is inside.

Does anyone know anything about these? Ever seen one?
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

I don't remember an LE, but IIRC correctly the Midnight Special was introduced partway through the model year.

Yes, saw one for sale a few years back.  Took a serious look at it too.  That vinyl roof and restyled grille really dressed up the car and made it much sportier.  Not sure if it was called LE or Midnight Special as mentioned but it was nice.
I have a picture or two here somewhere ........... :whistling:

In fact it was the Playmate car in 77.  The car is pictured in there somewhere    :o

my cousin had a 76 with a 400. it was in incredible shape but it was a DOG. I'm sure they have a lot of potential though if you put some work into it. that car however, for some reason looks quite nicer!

I have one of those bunny head logo's on each of my vent windows.  They're pretty cheesy looking but I figure they have likely been there since the car was a child soI have left them on.

Yeah his interior was very nice as well. The car really looked and had the feeling of a luxury vehicle.

I do recall seeing a few of these as "Midnight Chargers". I bet they ride like a sofa.  :2thumbs:

The folks over at Mopar Style probably have the skinny on these things.

Ghoste

Were the Midnight Special ones just LE's that were only available in black?  Did they even say "Midnight Special" on them anywhere?
