Hey Guys/Gals,

Looking for a nice set of billet aluminum pulleys that wont break the bank!

So far it looks like 440 source has some good deals

http://store.440source.com/Billet-Aluminum-Pulleys/products/136/

I was considering there serpentine setup, yes i know its basically a v-belt setup but with a serpentine belt.

Just looking for some opinions?

Thanks!

Look up a guy on Moparts with the screen name duster499
He makes up custom serpentine systems that are not only good looking but easy to install and affordable. They come complete with alternators, PS pumps, and A/C compressors, and pulleys, hardware, etc. They are also compatible with mechanical fuel pumps so you don't have to swap to an electric if you don't want to (that was a big selling point for me).
I talked to a lot of people at shows who had March systems. They all complained about fitment and the parts losing their appearance in a short time. Although I ended up re-polishing & clear coating all of the components, I found that duster499's kit fit great, and is very well designed.

Nice But I would like to have a setup with the AC compressor under the alternator
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Hence, the need for an electric fuel pump. The A/C compressor would then take up residence where the mechanical fuel pump sits.

The March serpentine setup is nice. Mine uses 6 rib & 5 rib belts along with their billet brackets and turnbuckle style tensioners. Not cheap but then again nothing is on this car

The march setup is nice, heck the billet specalties setup is really nice. But there all expensive, and when it comes down to it id gladly be more go than show. But if the price is right id love a setup like that.

FLG

Been talking with Bill, holy cow his prices are great!

Ill be ordering his setup!

Thanks Bill440, saved me a lot of time, money, and headache!

What happened to building a 440 on a budget?  :shruggy: Wouldn't some head work be a better use of your money than mostly eye candy? Not trying to be difficult it just seems your going off target. Save the bling for the chevy boys. ;)

Granted!

But heres the thing, this is money spent not only now but in the long run. My final goal is to build a 500+ stroker...this whole setup will move over to that motor, the head work will be out the window as ill go aluminum heads. Ive always wanted this style setup, if i buy all the v-belt pulleys ill only be buying this for the next motor so id have spent even more. Ill take the few HP Loss for a bit of eye candy.

BTW the only thing i didnt to was port or polish the heads, they did get a nice 3 angle valve job and new 911 springs.

A member of my pickup truck forum had a set I don't think anybody wanted a while back-I'll check to see if he still has them.

Congrats, FLG!
I think you'll be happy with his setup. I'm curious to see how it bolts up without A/C.
Post some pics please!  :icon_smile_big:

has anyone bought this kit from march performance?   http://www.marchperf.com/styletrack_440_alt_ps.html    i want to switch to a serpentine setup that will have power steering water pump and alternator only and was looking at this kit is it worth it? i want to upgrade to a higher output alt and this includes a 105 amp with it. is the water pumps any good in this kit or are they junk and cause overheating? same with the power steering pump are they reliable or are they known to fail?

FLG

2fast,

Not sure about the march kit, but I know with shipping and a ps pump the march kit runs almost 2k.

The kit I got from bill is 100 amp alt, and ps pump (no ac for me) all the brackets..ect and its just about near half of the price of the march setup.

Rolling_Thunder

I've had some quality control issues with March pulleys before...   I have had a crank pulley that wobbled almost 1/8" - but this was drilled "within their specs" --  I also got on of their first true serpentine belt systems for a customer and it did not fit for $H!T. Brackets mis-drilled, faulty alternator, and showed up with a scratch...

How much does Bill's set-up run ?   I wouldnt mind his stuff for my RoadRuner

Does the kit from bill use stock diameter pulleys? I've read the march kit is different diameter then stock so it runs the water pump and alternator faster at idle. Does bills kit use the factory belt tensioners?

FLG

I think the crank pulley is underdrive but as for the rest of em im not sure  :shruggy:
