What's the most standard bore & stroke to make a 470 ci engine from a 400 block

What is the standard bore and stroke used on a 400 cubic inch engine to achieve 470 cubes?

I believe a 400 engine block with a stock 440 crank will yield 451ci

3.915" stroke/6.535" rods, That is a 470 out of a 400 Block! hope that helps. Check out 440 source they have all the information you will need to pick the right pistons for your compression ratio.

400 with 440 and stock rods, no matter if BB or RB, with the right matched piston for the selected rod.

with this basic setup where the only custom part will be the piston.

standart 400 piston is 4.34... 0.020 more than 440 standart piston

then... well, you know the 440source info LOL

The 3.9" stroke was originally achieved by offset grinding the original Mopar 2.375" rod journal to the Chevrolet 2.20" size and used more common Chevy rods, this combined with a .035" overbore to 4.375" made for 469 inches (rounded off to 470).
