How do I clone my 70 Charger to a 69 Daytona

Am I missing any other things to clone my 1970 Charger to a 69 Daytona?
Rear wing
Front nose
(Vega plug)  74-76? Is that correct?
Item that goes on top of the front fenders
Can I cut my old trunk lid or do I have to buy a new 1?
The 2 chrome items that go next to the front winshield.
Thank you in advance for any help! :2thumbs:

It depends on how "authentic" you want the car to look.  If you're going for just the appearance on the Daytona then you should be fine.  Remember the hose has all of buckets, headlight doors, bracing, brackets, lower valance, etc.  The wing will need the wing supports that mount on the floor panel.  As you mentioned already, you'll need the fender scoops, A-pillar chrome trim and the Vega hatch.  Any year model will do but the later years do not have the vents which is a plus.  The vented hatch can be used but there is added labor to fill the vents.  You can use the trunk lid that is on your car but it will need to be trimmed to fit.  Chances are VERRRRRRY slim that you will find a real 500/Daytona decklid.  You will also need the front trunk channel from a '71-up Charger or build one yourself.

Now if you really want the car to look authentic as a '69 Daytona then you will have to do all of the above plus the follwing.  First off, you'll have to swap out the steering column and wheel to either a '68 or '69 piece.  The gauge cluster will need to be a '69 dash frame and all of the pads will have to be swapped over to a '69.  The high back seat frames will have to go along with the front and rear seat covers and door panels.  The marker lights on the quarter panels will have to be swapped over to the smaller '69 pieces.  The tail light panel trim will need to be removed and the holes welded up and the three pieces of trim will need to be added.  I think that's about it.

For appearance purposes, it is easier to start with a '70 Charger, but for an authentic looking clone, it is easier to start with a '69 Charger and just swap front caps.

From front to back, you will need the following:
Nose, front spoiler, grille, grille frame, turn signals, headlamp buckets, bucket bolts, headlamp doors, headlamp pivots, pivot adjusters, headlamp seal beams and retainers, altered wiring harness, vacuum lines, headlamp vacuum pods, pod reinforcements, z-braces, frame braces, upper nose support brace, lower valance, valance support, seal kit, nose to fender seals, fender seal retainers (you already have them on your fenders), nose to hood seal, fender scoops, a-pillar trims, vega plug with glass, 3rd gen charger dutchman, package tray (custom made), headliner, package tray support (custom made), deck lid closeout panel (preferably steel), deck lid hinges, deck lid hinge mounts, wing, wing washers and wing braces.
Of course you will have to alter your 70 fenders and cut the deck lid. The vega plug requires alteration as well to fit properly.
Oh, and you will need lots of patience. It took me a week just to get the nose together and working properly on the last one that I built.
Have fun. It's all worth it in the end.

Janak stuff is pricey. My SB stuff was 8500.00 to the door. Also I will add the SB stuff quality was not very good.I spent weeks fitting trimming and reworking things to get a good fit.Was it worth it.I have to say yes.But if I did it again I would go with Dayclona or Eric Nelson parts.  :Twocents: Good luck  :2thumbs:

I found me a vega hatch & rear window assy. for free. Just have to go pick it up. Chevy guys have it made. Everything is always so dang cheap. If he only knew it was for a Mopar I would probably have to pay over $1000.00. Its a start. First piece towards my clone. LOL

How about I buy the parts for 7 grand & charge you 11 grand? That way we'll both be happy.   :2thumbs:

Almost 3 months on my clone project. I have learned so much and much more to learn. I am still looking for the vega hatch years 74-77..I went to go check one out, but the inside was completely rotted and unrepairable.  :eek2:  I am still gathering parts. Thanks all for the help! If anyone is considering doing a clone...my advise would be to do some heavy research on this site ...lots of info and pics! :2thumbs:

nvrbdn,
I would consider trading my 70 seats for 69's. depending where you are located. If local, that would be cool. If not, Shipping would be killer on something like seats though.
