I won't bitch...this is a good problem to have.  I lost a bunch of weight and blew my wad a bit quick on getting replacement clothes...specifically pants.. work pants to be more exact.  My original ones got way too big to wear during the weight loss so I got new ones...but now even these are too big.

so I post this because I'm a cheap F and don't want to pay 25 bucks a pair for new work pants (uniform pants with leg pockets)  does anyone or thier wife know how to "take in" a pair of pants?  we have a sewing machine and after a short fist fight with it, I'm sure I could be using it.  We aren't talking nice clothes so If I ruin a pair or two or they don't look perfect it's ok.  I thought of taking them somewhere but even if I could get them done for 10/pair, I'd only be saving about 50 bucks over buying new so unless I'm in for the cost of thread only, i'd pony up and buy new ones.

and I really need to get a life if this the highlight of my friday

i, to be honest, after losing the 40 lbs, just went to walmart and bought jeans for $9 and called it good.  I keep all my "fat" jeans for greasers now.

I was going to say that you might just send them through the washer on hot and dry them on thermonuclear. Then use a belt to take up the rest of the slack.

Good for you.   :2thumbs:   I put on some pounds this summer (I usually loose during the warm months) and need to take some action before my bad habits get the best of me.

I'd just turn the pants inside out, staple the inseam from cuff to crotch, & get a belt.  :2thumbs:

I suppose it will hurt less if I take the pants off before doing this right?

It all depends on your pain threshold.

A local dry cleaner may do alteratons on site.  Bring the pants, tell them what you need done and work a deal for the quantity involved.   :Twocents:
