Just saw the commercial for the next Mecum Auction and they are advertising a 69 Hemi R/T, red with black top. Might it be the one that went through the resto here? Can't recall who the member was.

I doubt it by this description....

QuoteThe car has twice been a cover feature in Muscle Car Review magazine, in both the December 1995 and January 1997 issues, and is featured in the best selling Muscle: America's Legendary Performance Cars by Randy Leffingwell and Darwin Holmstrom, with photography by renowned automotive photographer David Newhardt.

Curious to see if it was really coded for the hood pins as well....

Yea, I recalled it was a recent resto but I wasn't sure how bad it started off and I didn't expend the effort searching. Searching using "charger resto hemi" is pointless.  :eek2:

Just wondering how come the hood mounts and springs are not body color. :shruggy:  I thought they were  supposed to be body color as they are on mine and were originally.  It will be very interesting to see what price  this brings. :popcrn:

Yeah fender bolts are not body colored either.  Must be just restored incorrect for the times?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

C_stripes

Pretty sure that that is not BZ's 69 HEMI charger. His has a stripe and was done very nicely.

Wow you're right Steve, it is that car.....didnt even notice the marker lights.  Already have it in the registry & the hood pins are not correct.
Heres a close up pic of the quarter marker when it was for sale @ Colin's back in 2005

NTM,looks like the trunk lid fits like crap!!!!

R6red4spd69RT

Nice color combo, if it only had a white stripe it would be perfect.  ;D

charge69

Guessing you know my Charger already! ;D  It is a NOM 1969 HEMI R/T with R6 red exterior , white interior , white vinyl top , white R/T stripe from the factory. Still NOM.  Engine has been rebuilt @588hp/6600rpm.  Just.0030 over w/standard size bearings throughout. Additions include custom Comp Cams Hydraulic roller Cam, JE custom and true 11 to 1 pistons, and all new rocker arms (OEM) and a complete digital-6 ignition system.  Should be on the road in a few months. ;D

If I only had not had this F%&*king stroke!  Luckily, only a few residuals and driving is not one of them! Gotta be carefull though and let  HER drive it!!

I did not know that.  Sorry to hear, hope life is treatin' you right.

Thanks a lot.  I have been slowly but surely recovering most of my functions and will as time goes by.  It is very frustrating though to be as weak as I am and cannot get overheated at all right now. At least I do have a dear friend that is doing most of the work right now on the Charger. None of my children or grandkids have volunteered and that will go a long way toward what happens to the Charger when I am gone.

It is all just bodywork(getting it "lazer-straight" and painting it) and then the real fun  will begin. On a rotisserie right now. At least the motor is all done and waiting!

Sorry for the hi-jack of the thread and am still waiting for the sale of the Charger this weekend.

I went and viewed this car, very interesting.... along with the other Hemi Chargers there.  I would have taken the blue one though.

I go every year to the Mecum auction.  I know Dana Mecum fairly well so I get free tickets.

There was alot of Hemi metal lying around, not as much as in past years, be enough.

Here are picture from the 09 and 08 auctions.

A few dead bugs and road grime can cure that.  :D

TheAutoArchaeologist

Lol, that's true.  I got enough bugs on the front of the Challenger to prove that.
