Hi!
Wonder how much i need to change on the engine if its not a magnum
Cam, lifters and more???
I read that the comp was changed in the 1970 to 9:7 from 10:1 but the same horsepower like the 69 so that dont matter???
Im afried that the engine are coming from a new yorker or something like that...
was it only the six pack engines that was stamped HP???
Mabey the air cleaner has been changed also and the engine are right.
It has a forged steel crank
this is the engine

The numbers stamped in the data pad in front of the intake will tell you if it started life as a HP. HP has hotter cam/springs, bigger carb, free-flowing exhaust, different spark curve. The exhaust manifold visible in the pic is HP.

The same horsepower rating with lower compression is just a numbers game used for advertising.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
