Video in signature off switch

It's more of an annoyance than a problem. But is there a way to shut off other people's video's that they have in their signature or avatar before a page loads? They slow the loading of each page. I know the red X on the top of the page will slowly stop it but that will also stop the loading of information I want to see. Is there a way to go into my profile and take care of this?

Go to your profile, click "Look and Layout Preferences" in the left hand menu, check the box next to "Don't show users' signatures.", and then click the "Change profile" button at the bottom right.
