You are no machinist?!?!?! Sure, then the pope doesn't wear a funny hat and a bear doesn't shit in the woods...

NICE WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Brother you are a very talented craftsman. Wow! Hope it runs the way it looks.............. I'm sure it will.

Would you be interested in making another set of Header's and Tubing for Turbo's. I'm gonna be doing a Twin set as well and would love to purchase the Headers and stuff from you if you have any time?

Either way great work,
Joe

Thanks guys. Another set of headers would cost a lot I need a real TIG I think.... maybe the cost of a TIG and materials???? lol I have a ton of time in those....

Well I've tried to not update as much and hold off until I actually make some progress.. Turns out I cant wait.....

I got a little more done on the power steering pump bracket but I hate the way it is turning out so I've tried to forget about it for a while....

I did however acquire a bit of magnesium in the shape of this...... Anyone have a lighter?

Exhaust made it this far...

Yes that is the waste gate dump...

And now for something you guys might actually be interested in. I wanted Disc brakes for the car and as I'm broke I thought this idea might work out. The Hub was "removed" using a 20-ton press, the rotors and calipers are off a 2010 GT  :eek2: I still need to turn the hubs down slightly and make a caliper mount but other wise I thing it will work out well (and cheap).....

Getting a little more time to work on it lately. I got the drivers side down pipe tacked, I just need to finish the waste gate pipes, mark all the locations for the egt and wide band ports, pull the exhaust and finish welding it up! Then I can finial move on to something else.

Im so exhausted of work on the exhaust, I have spent a little time mounting the seats. All that is left is to finish the shifter mount.

I am loving this thread and all your incredible work.. You are right. Many of us have the ideas, but not the machinery to be able to put those ideas to work and prove them..

I can't wait to see it all done, but am heavy waiting on the accessory brackets and your brake work..  I take it you are saying the calipers and discs are from a MUSTANG GT?? I am wondering if using the typical R body front disc or it's hub wouldn't work and without machining?

I have always wanted to design a combination caliper and steering bracket that would bolt directly to the factory spindle. The steering part of the deal to utilize front steer and rack system... Your pics look like you would have room below the crank pulleys for a rack.

Great work. PLEASE keep us up to speed. Even if it's something very small.. ;)

Lookin great!

Ive got a question if possible...if you have some spare time/aluminum (ill pay of course)

I need to cap off a HKS BOV, the flange has been welded on the pipe and i just dont want to use a dump valve at all but id like to keep the flange there so im looking for someone to machine up a piece of aluminum the same diameter/thickness of mating flange on the BOV so i can just pop it on.

Thanks, I'll have a lot more details on that once I get the calipers mounted.

Thank you. Yes the brakes are ford gt (mustang) to mount the rotor to the factory spindle you have to turn down the spindle hub just a little, I have a picture I'll post later. The accy bracket keeps me up at night, I can't wait for that to be over lol.

I'm interested in the rack system, I know very little about this cars and had just found out about the rack system in the e body's. Any info if that is the rack you are referring too.

Thanks, I should beable to make something like that, sent me some info on the style, size, and seal design.

Thanks again guys, I have big plans to get a lot down in the next few nights.....

There are a few aftermarket "K" members out there. Only a few I have seen close enough to touch and that I like. Alter K Tion is a very strong unit and I like it, but I am ols school when it comes to welding steel to cast iron. Especially when it's something that takes allllot of abuse. Thus my question on a steering/caliper bracket.. There are also a few others that I like, but can't think of their names at the moment...

The really bug thing for me is being able to put a large volume pan on that doesn't drag the ground. This is the reason I'm not fond of rear steer. Going to a rack system in front of the motor gives plenty of room for a wide flat pan. Also stepping up to R&P drops allot of weight off the nose and gives a much better feel to your steering..

Here is a link to the ALTER K TION. This system is coil over shocks, so gets rid of the torsion bars as well... More header room.... Take a look at the steering arm on the spindles and you will see why I ask..

I wish I would have done that kit and a few other thinks BEFORE I built all this crap. I guess I'll fix it the next go around....

Not too much of an update, but I got the exhaust pretty much finished up. I got the ac rear support done, Im also using the fuel pump port for the right turbo drain. I'm also building a little reservoir for the power steering pump. I also plan on building a normal power steering tank that will be mounted I the fire wall or under the intake, but the little one should keep the pump happy.. I also started planing the radiator and piping, pretty tight fit...
