Trim on a '67

I'm the proud owner of a 1967 Charger that I just bought :) While I'm trying to restore it, I'm going to be relying on the internet, particularly this site, to answer questions that I have, so thank you in advance! :)  My father also has a 1969 Charger, so maybe in the future he will get around to finishing it!

So, now that the introduction is finished, here is my question: There are two lines of trim that go the length of the car on either side. I can't see how I could get these off.  my last project was a 1951 Coronet, and it had screws on all the trim.  this one has no screws and seems to be pressed on, so do I need a special tool to get them off?

Also, the Charger logos on the side of the car, do they have clips on the other side of the sheet metal, or are they glued?

Any advice on other pieces would be helpful!

Thanks :)

a service manual would be your best friend here...photos & diagrams are in there for trim

basically it boils down to this:

front fender chrome is held on by nuts and plastic clips...look under fenders for nuts

door chrome has 2 nuts, one at each end, open door and look underside...then remove nuts and pop it off plastic clips.

rear chrome comes off by pulling up on chrome, clips should stay on body...chrome bends easily

Thanks much!  I appreciate it :)

trim is also made of unobtanium if you damage one of them, i just stripped mine , gave them away and never looked back

the charger and "dart" emblems are held on by nuts on the backside under the interior panel

good luck, also some folks here,  www.66-67charger.com , that do headlight motor and EL lighting repairs,

look forward to seeing progress

On a related note, are the clips that hold the fastback trim on available?  I tried finding them once some years ago and couldn't.

Here is another question.  does anyone know the official color of my dodge?   I have no clue.

Ghoste

It looks to be gold on my monitor but you know how that goes.  Do you have the fender tag?
