Oh wow.....this is apperentley a live video. Reports say a natural gasline blew and the result was multiple homes going up in flames quickly.

The last update I heard was 2 fatalities. 21 hospitalized, 5 of them critical. 45 houses destroyed.

I took the dog for a walk an hour ago and the smell of smoke was thick in the air.... Natural gas is still burning at numerous now empty lots. Amazing and frightening. A blown high pressure gas was the likely culprit.

It's amazing how fast something like that can happen with no warning.....that's why I have storage insurance on my Charger. Who knows when something like that can happen.

I live 2 1/2 miles away from the scene. I look out my back window and I can see flames 200-300 feet in the air. Unfricken believable. Total devastation. I know people that got out of there houses and the houses were burned down to the ground.

We had one employee in my office who lost everything they owned yesterday.  One of their vehicles melted.  No renter's insurance either.

 Stu lives just on the other side facing SFO, he's fine, FB reports of local friends shows none of my extended group are injured some home are lost or damaged however.

lines are around the block to donate blood, but they need type O Neg.

I live about two miles from the disaster. My wife just received a call that one of her friends did not survive and that her daughter (14 years old) was found in the front lawn. They said from the position of the young girls body it looked like she was crawling to escape the inferno. Really sad news.

It could take days to drain that pipe of all the gas. May burn for a long time!

That stuff can happen.  Too bad a pipepline is in a nieghborhood.

I also heard that a mom and child were perished. I think it is the same people. I believe the child was attending St. Cecilia's or S.I. high school in the city. My friends know them.

i heard about it today, but your stories make it affect me that much deeper.  i am extremely saddened by the whole affair and i am heart stricken for those families and friends that are affected.  my prayers go out to all of them.
