Transmission shifter modifications...

So I was kicking around in my head for a while - would there be any benefit to modifying the shift rods on a hurst shifter in my 69 RR project ?  I never have had any problems with stock stuff but I was just kicking around some ideas...     what about using threaded rods and heim joints on either end -   my major complaint about the stock stuff is the slop of the arms - usually i just stack some washers between the cotter pins and the levers to take up slack -  but they never seem to be as tight as they could be...   

I've seen some 1/4 mile stuff like this for other tranmissions - just never seen anything for a 833...

If you use the correct clips on the rods they will take up the slop.

i've used those - still had some slop...      but then again they were older ones -  maybe not as "springy"  haha           i honestly was just looking for something to tinker on   haha

My A833 has a lot of slack that it is hard to tell whether you are in gear or not.

I dont have a solution either.
