The difference between cast and forged 440 crank?

I have a crankshaft that is claimed to be a forged 440 crank from 1969. I can't find any casting numbers anywhere.
The following is visible, counting the counter weights from the front to the back:
- the no 1 big counter weight has the number "8" punched in, and close to the rod bearings something like a "7" is cast in the metal
- counter weight no 7 has a "V" punched in
- counter weight no 8 (big one at the rear end) has a "9" punched in.

Does that make any sense to anyone?
Is there a significant weight difference between forged and cast crank?
Any other things that could help me to identify the type of crank?

looks forged to me -   cast cranks will have a very thin flashing mark - forged cranks have a wide flat flashing.
