My Crappy orange box is 8 years old and going strong.

I was at a cruise in last night and I was talking with a friend about these infamous orange boxes.  Personally, I haven't had any problems with them but he said he bolted it on and it only lasted 2 months and then crapped out.  Is there one that is better than everything else?  You always think that parts from the actual auto manufacturer should be better than the rest... I guess this isn't the case when it comes to these ECU boxes.

I took no chances and went with FBO's 2 year warranty A688 package and phased, curved, vacuum advance adjusted distributor. Gapped the XR5 NGK's @ .040 and with the Firecore plug wires from Ron it all made a huge difference! This 440 jumps to life and purrs like a tiger with a much stronger idle than before, power is way up all along the band to top end. I hate to sound like a commercial but this stuff works, even my MPG is way better, and I'm even running midgrade octane with no issues. Granted the new Mopar Performance dist. I was using "out of box" with no adjusting of curve was a bit too much advance too soon, and I never could get the vacuum advance adjusted to actually help (possibly due to that improper curve) but it (the Mopar dist.) was an improvement over the stock reman. dist. I did have. The trusty old (no longer made) Standard 101 ECU still works and it's going on 15-16 years old, being saved as a backup, but the big ugly yellow super coil is crap next to one of FBO's "matched" component coils. I'm glad others here bitched about the new orange ECU's as it steered me to FBO's stuff and I'm much more impressed than I ever expected.

the chrome box is a step above the orange box and not the killer old gold box, just make sure your not getting the stock replacement chrome box that the parts stores sell, not the same as the MP chrome box, but of course in the middle of nowhere it will work also, found  that out in nowheresville kansas

Not to be stupid, but who is FBO? Tried a search with no results.
