This Charger has a 440 engine which could be why the price is so high. I think $14,550 is too steep. I went and looked at it in person and the door panels don't line up correctly and the doors don't shut that well, the front seats are incorrect and don't fold down so you can't get in the back seat.

Has anyone delt with this place? I looked at several cars and a lot of them looked they had been resprayed for a quick sale but no true restorations. The salesman said they don't get chargers in too often so I don't expect they will lower the price either. I get concerned when a see a car in primer.

I live about 40 miles from them and have walked through a few times.  I have never dealt with them, but much of the stuff not inside is trash and not much is perfect.

I will say I sold mine for 5k more than that one last year and it would cost 15k to make that one look like mine did.

Yeah I think this thing is way over priced, The condition it's in I would say it might be worth 6-7K at the most. The  salesman said it needed front end work like ball joints. He really didn't know the history on the car or have any pictures of the body work, when it was being done.

That place is just up the road from me about 20 miles or so.

It's a good place to walk through if you've got some time to kill and need a good laugh.

Are they still charging $1.00 admission?

I hadn't been there for at least five years when the Father in law asked me to check out a Corvette they had.

It was total junk and way overpriced.

As is EVERY car they have on the lot.

I got a good chuckle when I discovered some of the same junk that I had looked at years earlier was still there, hadn't

moved, except to sink a little deeper into the mud.

This is the place where a lot of local guys dump their junk, selling it on consignment.

They usually get pretty decent money for their rough project cars, usually selling them out of state to unsuspecting buyers.

I know a guy who used to deliver cars for this place.

It wasn't long before he quit doing it.

Too many people got pissed off at him for dropping off this high priced junk late at night.

As he was instructed to do.

He said it got pretty hairy a couple of times when people saw for the first time what they had spent their money on.

So he just quit...

I would'nt buy a coaster wagon from these clowns.

There is another place just outside of Springfield IL around Glen Arm, I think it's called Daves Classic cars :shruggy:  You can see it just off I55.  They always seem to have some mopar project sitting in the lot, but they look real rough.  Has any one stopped there?

I killed time with my daughter, walking around, showed her the cars.
Half of these cars, from my view, belong in a junkyard, the other 1/2 are way overpriced. Had some neat stuff.

Nice to walk around, and they are nice enough. I did pay a buck.
That cream Chevy Caprice in the background had a '396' emblem on it, if I recall....

I went to look at a Satellite rag top years ago.  Talked with the "good 'ol boys" for a while who sit on their ass all day long.  They told me the owner drives around the country looking for cars.  The nicest car I saw here was a 87 Grand National for $15k.   I would agree, too over priced.  The place Daves, is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY tooooo high priced.   They might be growing some pot in the back to keep there rational they do. :shruggy: :nana:

I live in Springfield, IL and Country Classic Cars is about 40 minutes south of me. Glenarm is only a few miles from me on I-55. The cars at Dave's belong in a junkyard. Everyone around here pretty much knows to stay away from that place. Most of his sales are from unsuspecting buyers from out of state.

Lots of people around here have walked around the Country Classic Cars lot in Staunton just to kill some time, but I have rarely heard of anyone actually buying anything out of there. I went there a few years back to look at a '57 Chevy sedan they had pictured on their site. I knew it was a project car when I went to look at it, but the description talked like this thing ran and drove good. When I got there to see it, the punk kid salesman acted like he didn't even want to bother with me, he simply just told me I could look the car over if I wanted. Well, I did and this was one of the rustiest '57s I have ever seen. Even the door frames and pillars had lots of rot in them. Heaven help the poor sap who actually tries to maneuver that sorry heap down a public road. That car wouldn't have been fit for a demolition derby, as it probably would have disintigrated on impact. A couple of years later, my wife wanted to see the place, so went went and walked around a bit. The scary thing was, someone actually bought that '57, as I didn't see it on the lot anywhere. They do have some nice cars inside, but as others have said, they are way overpriced. If I were going to spend that kind of money, I would find a more reputable classic car dealer to buy from.
