Ramo Stott 'Bird Part on Ebay

I was searching parts on ebay and came across this oil pump that was supposedly on Ramo Stott's Superbird.  I figure Doug would know more about this but is there really any way to prove that it really was removed from his car.  Or is it just something where you hope they are telling the truth.  Anyways, thought some of you might like to see it.  Bid away because I didn't plan on buying it.

hard to say what car it came off !  coincidence that of all  grandnational mopars  !!  its one that still survives

I'm assuming the brazed-on tubes are for an oil cooler?

And it's a rusty oil pump at that.     Seller has had that for sale for a long time.      

Now if it was the 1970 ARCA 300 trophy from Daytona, you'd be talking.   (I know where it is, but am told it's not for sale.)

The other thing I am looking for is a 1970's T shirt.  It's white with a large color photo on the front of Ramo's Superbird as #47 running on the banking at Michigan.    I used to have one as a kid.

Doug, weren't the 70 Stock Cars (nascar, usac and arca) dry sumps?  Would a dry sump engine have this type of pump on it?

Some were and some were not dry sump.  Ramo's Superbird was never a dry sump.  It also has a wet sump K frame.  The main advantage of the dry sump was the ability to get the engine a little lower in the car.

That looks like the small oil pump to me.  Not sure what application is for each but I'm guessing dry sump vs. wet sump but don't know.  I know the West Coast guys switched to dry sump simply because they kept on hitting oil pans and dropping out of races.
