Damn School Vo-tech Kids got a BRAND NEW 5.7 Hemi charger Donated By Chrysler for "Teaching purposes only" and has to be CRUSHED afterwards....200 Miles in this thing.  :flame: ...I told the boy he should see if he can get his hands on that Hemi/trans before it goes to the crusher...  :D

if the car is a new charger, I don't feel for it to much, BUT that engine, I agree with you 110% on!

I teach at a community college and we currently have a Hemi 300, a prowler and a VIPER that are for "training purposes only" and will be destoryed (and documented) when they are no longer useful for that purpose.  I can't even count the # of trucks, mustangs, vettes, and other cars that have already met that fate with less than 1000 miles on them over the years.

They are not titled or liscensed.  Corporate Chrysler (or GM, Ford, Toyota, etc.) doesn't want those parts out there available to keep you from buying new stuff from them.  I am sure there are liability issues, too.  It does seem like a shame, but that is how it is.

I went to a vo-tech high school and we had a Gremlin that was the same story. In my sophomore year they received a new Camaro, so the Gremlin had to be crushed. The teacher let us take it out to the parking lot and beat the hell out of it first. It looked like it was destroyed by a bomb!

They could give it to me, that would make an awesome centerpiece in the living room!

I can't imagine that a call to any Chrysler focused museum would result in a home for that in minutes. Don't we have a few members here that are connected to such places?
