I never really figured out what those were for, though my guess is just more support for the bumper ends as they are a long way from the frame mounts.

Anyway, you don't need them for hideaway installation.

neither needs them or not need them... I simply would install them back. Won't disturb or affect on the hideaways

But you would be better off with a 72.  :yesnod:

Nacho, you know 71 and 72 are better looking. Cost more too !! ;D

Nacho-RT74

but that inner cushion is not visible LOL, and goes the same on 71/72 than 73/74 ;)

just that I'm not sure if there is some lenght diff to that cushion, due the larger gap between body and bumpers on lates

BETTER LOOKING ?  :scratchchin: I don't think so... better optioned :yesnod: yes!

Yes...Better looking...However, we all have our own personal tatse in cars. It makes our hobby more stronger.

I have owned a '72 and still own a '73......I personally like the 73 better, I like the c-pillars of a hardtop 73/4 over the the '71/2. But with that being said, my 3rd gen 'dream car' would have to be a '71 SuperBee!

That's the exact thing.... c-pillars of a hardtop 73/4 that makes me hate it. ...I have owned both.  :Twocents:

LOL, I'm just right the opposite... higher door cut and smaller quarter glass is what I don't like on them LOL

It leaves a pretty good gap between the grille and the fenders if I leave these installed.  :scratchchin:

I trimmed probably 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch off of them and it seems to be just about what I needed.
