long or shorty headers for my 318

Just came back from a local shop and was asking about putting in a dual 2.5 inch exhaust.  He told me to get shorty headers and he'll charge 3 hrs labour for the header install and about 500 total for the exhaust with flowmasters.  Should I go for the short or long headers and what, if any changes do I have to make (mini-starter/90* oil adapter)?

I guarantee long-tubes will bottom and need replacing.  If it's not a super-hot performance build I'd go with ceramic coated shorties, or wrap them.

Naw, it's nowhere near a high performance build.  It's a 318 auto, stock everything.
