colorado springs, co-kansas city, mo-columbus, ga/anybody from here??

my job is cutting hours again and the wife still hasn't gotten a call back on job applications in the last 10 months so we have until Dec 15 to figure out if we need to move or what
whats the job/condo rental situation in these cities??  everyone says las vegas went into the recession last and will come out of it last, my boss is figuring at least 6-12 months of more slow downs here, maybe we can go somewhere that is picking up a little now.........

1.  we are familiar with colorado springs, co, lived there 2 times in the military

2.  we have some family (can't move in with them) in mid-western MO

3.  possibility of having a rent free house for a year in Columbus, GA

its cheap to lived here and they say our economy has picked back up

   but my buisness is still really slow

Kansas City, Mo.area is a great place to live. Cost of living here they say is lower  than most other city, traffic isn't to bad. Lots of good things to do. Depending on your field, and your wife's, work can be tough to find. Construction is very slow now, my hours are cut way back too. Cost of living is less on the Missouri side  than the Kansas side. another thing about KCMO is that you can live in a outlying community and still have a quick and easy commute dependent upon your job.  I know of many people who live in Lawrence, and just hop on the turnpike or K10 to KC.
