I've searched and read past posts, but I'm still not certain whether I should put these back in or not.
I took my center out to re-seal and paint the rear end, and the thrust buttons fell out. It's a 489 with a Detroit Locker that I bought from Randy's Ring & Pinion about 8 years ago. The axles have green bearings installed. I want to leave them out because a) looks like a PITA to put back in, and b) the roll pin broke somehow and I'm sure that's not normal.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

I dont think you need them with green bearing. I left mine out.

you could reuse it, just replace the center pin. I have noticed it is pretty much normal get it broken.

in fact looks WAAAY BETTER than some other thrust buttons, newers and smaller I have seen, and they have been reused yet.

however, green bearings don't require any thrust button

If you don't want it, I'll be happy to get those ones you have on actual conditions! ;). I like those more than the replacements available around

Don't need them with greens but save them if they're originals because...   the greens will probably not last all the long and (I'm told) repro buttons are NOT hardened like the originals in case you want to go back to original style bearings.

Thanks for the info everyone. Sorry Nacho, I'm gonna put them in the box with my axle adjuster for when I go back to tapered bearings.
