on a side note, the guy playing the harp on the right was one of my professors in college. Purely coincidental, but when I searched YouTube for "la bamba traditional", this vid came up. He's also in the "La Bamba" movie in the scene where Richie and his brother are at the brothel in Tijuana as one of the musicians that are playing the traditional version of the song (and that's how he gets the idea to record a rock version of it).

Interesting.  I remember that scene.

I also remember when Lou Diamond Phillips had a career.

Oh, and I don't think anyone's mentioned "Love Rollercoaster" by The Ohio Players, but the Red Hot Chili Peppers' version is pretty awesome.
